October 12, 1962 “COMMISSIONER FORD FRICK surveyed Candlestick Park from the stands, as well as on the field, and then postponed Friday’s sixth game of the WorldSeries. After inspecting the outfield, heavy with water, the commissioner said he doubted that the Giants and Yankees would even be able to play Saturday although he added he will not cross that bridge (and he may need one) until Saturday morning.”
