“A proposal by North Beach merchants that Coit Tower be converted into a gian Christmas candle during the coming holiday season will be considered by the  Park-Recreation Commission at its weekly meeting tomorrow. It is  suggested that a wide colored streamer be wound up the tower and a  light, representing a flame, be fixed at the top.”
