Everyone owes me one for not emailing me about the two (two!) glaring mistakes in that last post. But guess I’ll let it slip, if it was that kind of morning.
Inspired by Newt Gingrich’s comments that San Franciscans operate in a manner unbound by the laws of the real, I proposed yesterday (in the exacting forum of Twitter) that nothing could be further from the truth. While its maverick history is much heralded, present day San Francisco is a haven for the banal; to those who disagree with me, you’re invited to lunch at the MacDonald’s on Van Ness.
And having so proposed that someone should do something, I deliver a campaign for a new San Francisco and an end to media inaccuracies.
To the GOP I say GOOD DAY and welcome to the reality that is San Francisco.
It’s almost always 55 degrees here, and to be honest, we couldn’t care less.
Bring your encycolpaedia to work because you won’t be Wiki-ing anything.
There are those adventurous souls among you who utilize URL-type technology beyond the tumblr mainframe, and so perhaps you might have noticed that we’ve done up the place. I believe that San Francisco people say “redesign." While the Society digs are no longer located in an early ‘70s wood paneled office, they still can be found in a dormant undersea volcano off the coast of Divisadero.
You’ll note that there’s more "functionality,” as some of you expressed a desire to participate. As a good Socialist, who was I to say no?
But more importantly, what do you think?
